Holiday Science Camps

Bright Sparks Events science holiday activities are designed to entertain primary school aged children during the school holidays. We provide a safe environment for practical investigations, so children can come along and experiment for themselves, take part in our science challenges and investigate how things work. With some great WOW demonstrations too, it’ll be an unforgettable experience!

CHILDCARE VOUCHERS

As we are an activity provider offering specific tuition to help children improve their scientific skills, we are exempt from being Ofsted registered and are therefore unfortunately unable to accept childcare vouchers.

WHAT WILL THEY DO DURING THE SCIENCE CAMP?

Monday’s theme

SPY LAB

Be a secret agent for the day and find out how a cryptographer can hide and decode secret messages! Use your spy skills to disguise your identity, whilst uncovering your body’s own secret code. Have you got what it takes to complete our mission impossible?

TUESDAY’S THEME

COLOUR OF LIGHT

What is light and where does it come from?  Explore the rainbows of light using diffraction glasses, take a closer look at lasers to find out if light can bend, discover fluorescing chemicals, invisible messages and play in the dark with shadow puppets!

WEDNESDAY’S THEME

SCIENCE OF MAGIC

Is it magic? No, it’s science! Many magic tricks can look mysterious and unexplainable, but a lot use science. Let’s look at the process behind animation and trick our eyes with some mind-boggling illusions.

THURSDAY’S  THEME

HAIR-RAISING ELECTRONS

Gain an understanding of static electricity through hands-on activities! You can even use your body to complete an electrical circuit to spark a bulb to light up! Watch how hair stands on end with our special static electricity generator!

FRIDAY’S THEME

CRACKING CONTRAPTIONS

From bicycles, boats and bulldozers to clocks, cars and cranes – Engineers solve practical problems by applying mathematical and scientific knowledge. Create crazy contraptions and engineer a moving vehicle on this cracking day!
