Easter Holiday Science Camp in Oxford
St Gregory the Great School, Cricket Rd, Cowley, Oxford, OX4 3DR
Tuesday 13th to Thursday 15th April 2021, 9.00am-3.30pm
3 Day EASTER SCIENCE CAMP
To make the camp COVID-19 secure, we are limiting number of attendees to 15 and require children to attend all three days to keep the bubble consistent.
£90 per child, for 3 day week (aged 5-11 years).
Children are to bring packed lunch with them.
In order to comply with the new guidelines, this must be for childcare purposes to allow parents and carers, to work, search for work, undertake education or training, or attend a medical appointment or address a medical need, or attend a support group
All Holiday Camp Bookings will now be processed online
via Active Network.
Please see the link below to register!
Please note, this booking is currently provisional with the venue as we are waiting for approval that the Easter Camps can go ahead for the purposes of offering childcare provisions. We are confident that the holiday camps will happen as planned and we will do our best to give you as much notice as possible should circumstances change.
COVID-19 Coronavirus Policy
This Covid-19 policy will temporarily supersede all previous policies and is a working document that will be updated in line with current government guidance or directives in response to the Coronavirus outbreak, as the UK government releases new information.
Unfortunately in the current circumstances we cannot provide sibling discounts as the number of children attending the camp is limited and has been significantly reduced.
As we are an activity provider offering specific tuition to help children improve their scientific skills, we are exempt from being Ofsted registered and are therefore unfortunately unable to accept childcare vouchers.
Holiday Science Camps
Bright Sparks Events science holiday activities are designed to entertain primary school aged children during the school holidays. We provide a safe environment for practical investigations, so children can come along and experiment for themselves, take part in our science challenges and investigate how things work. With some great WOW demonstrartions too, it’ll be an unforgettable experience!
WHAT WILL THEY DO DURING THE SCIENCE CAMP?
3 days of Bodyology!
The human body consists of a number of biological systems. These are groups of organs and tissues that work together to perform important jobs for the body. Let’s explore Human Anatomy and find out how they work together as a functional one unit to keep us alive. Each day at the holiday camp will have a different scientific theme, as outlined below. The order of the themes are subject to change.
DAY 1 = Super Senses
Discover your body’s super senses. What flavours can your taste buds detect? Let’s tantalise your taste buds and excite your nostrils to find out! Why do our eyes see things upside down? Let’s explore the world of optics and trick our eyes with illusions that can fool us. How are sounds made? Investigate some superb symphonies, by making your own instruments.
DAY 2 = Vital Organs
Let’s put your heart to the test and examine the effect of exercise on your heart and lungs. Take a closer look at blood cells and even make a lung model and some blood clot slime! Then explore the digestive system and follow food down into your tummy as we enter our gut. Find out how we get nutrients from food and discover the waste we leave behind.
DAY 3 = Brilliant Brains and other Body bits
The brain is the control centre of the body, coordinating our every movement. Explore the inner workings of the brain and discover how refined your nervous system is. Let’s examine Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man and see what body proportions are symmetrical. Then see if you can feel your way through our proprioception experiments and trick our bodies.
