Science Shows at MRC Centenary Open Day

Sunday 30 June 2013 and we had been given access to MRC Harwell for their Centenary Open Day. We had an awesome time showing staff and their families how dry ice can used to make smelly potions, clouds and giant bubbles and linking this frozen CO2 to it’s use by scientists in the laboratory to snap freeze biological material. MRC Harwell Institute is an international centre for mouse genetics and so they often use cryogenics like dry ice and liquid nitrogen to freeze embryos and sperm.
